The Respiratory Protection Program Administrator course trains you to fulfill all the requirements of OSHA’s respiratory protection program (1910.134). This is a “Train the Trainer” series that allows your employees to become a suitably trained respiratory program administrator as required by OSHA for those employer’s whose employees wear respirators. With the successful completion of this course your program administrator will be able to perform fit testing of respirators and create your custom written respiratory protection program with all the required elements. Additionally, this course will present information about OSHA 1910.132 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) that is required for the safe removal of mercury dental fillings. CE will (eventually) be available for the successful completion of the course.

The objectives of this course include giving you the ability to:

  • Understand the written procedures of your business’s respiratory protection program.
  • Explain the importance of respirators.
  • Recognize the potential hazards you may be exposed to during your daily routine or emergencies.
  • Understand the health effects of hazardous materials or chemicals in your workplace.
  • Acknowledge the limitations of your equipment and effects of improper fit, maintenance or usage.
  • Know how to adjust your respirator and put it on correctly.
  • Identify respirator leakage by conducting a seal check.
  • Understand how to store and maintain your respirator.
  • Recognize the storage, repair, inspection and cleaning procedures for your respirator.
  • Obtain respiratory training certification upon successful course completion.
